Tarangire National Park

The Land Of Giants And Baobabs

About

Tarangire National Park

Tarangire National Park is a hidden gem in northern Tanzania, renowned for its massive elephant herds and ancient baobab trees. Covering approximately 2,850 square kilometers, the park is part of the Northern Safari Circuit and offers a quieter, more intimate wildlife experience.

During the dry season, the Tarangire River becomes a lifeline, attracting thousands of animals including wildebeest, zebras, giraffes, and predators like lions and leopards.

The Home of Giants

Tarangire National Park is renowned for its large elephant population, which is the highest concentration of elephants in Tanzania. During the dry season (June to October), massive herds of up to 300 elephants congregate along the Tarangire River, digging in the dry riverbed for water. The park’s elephants can also be seen during the wet season, though they are more dispersed throughout the park.
